Our Local Plan Scoping Consultation is open and is the first formal opportunity for people to help shape the new plan for northern Devon.
Members and town and parish councils play an important role in helping local communities understand why the consultation matters and encouraging as many people as possible to take part.
Please help by promoting the consultation through your local networks, newsletters, community groups and social media channels so we can hear from residents, businesses and organisations about what the new plan should cover and how best to involve people as we prepare it.
The best way for people to respond is through our online portal. You can access the event here: www.torridge.gov.uk/local–plan-scoping.
From there, simply follow the “go to event” button and reach a log-in page, with the option to register if you don’t yet have an account. It is quick and easy to set up, enables you to save a draft response and will remember your details ready for our future consultations.
All town and parish clerks have already been provided account details to submit the response of their council or meeting.
Further information, supporting documents and other ways to respond can be found using the above link. The key documents, including a paper version of the questionnaire, are also available at our customer service hubs and selected libraries.
The deadline to respond is 17:00 on Tuesday 11 August 2026.
