District Councillor Stephen Gibson talks on Roadford Reservoir Car Parking
I have received this week several complaints from local people who regularly visit the local Roadford Reservoir and country park and of course Café.
It is well used by locals and visitors from afar due its excellent water sports facilities.
Problem is all due to the introduction of an ANPR system by new management that as replaced the previous system.
The main complaint is that there was an annual subscription paid by members which entitled them to free car parking.
The new system does not seem to be picking up this despite the operators being informed of the exemptions.
I am informed that the new operators Smart Parking have been contacted by complainant but they are ignored and just receive inflated default notices which they are forced to pay to stop the process escalating.
So I visited on Friday to investigate myself and spoke to the manager Jake who was very helpful in explaining the problem but also asked me to communicate to any complainants that if they were effected in this way he would do his best to intervene if they contacted him at the Café.
